Useful Korean Words: Numbers

 


There are two kinds of Korean numbers.

The first one is Sino-numbers. These numbers are from Chinese characters. They are usually used for formal countings, such as date, year, money, and math.

The second one is Native Korean numbers. These numbers are usually used for casual counting, age, and telling hours.

In Korean, there are various expressions meaning to wear. When you wear somthing for your body, you can say '입다[iptta].'     ex) "바지를 입다[bajireul iptta]" means "to wear pants." When you wear something for your feet, you can say '신다[sintta].'     ex) "양말을 신다[yangmareul sintta]" means "to wear socks." When you wear somthing for your head, you can say '쓰다[sseuda].'     ex) "모자를 쓰다[mojareul sseuda]" means "to wear a hat." When you wear a watch, you can say '차다[chada].'     ex) "시계를 차다[sigyereul chada]" means "to wear a watch." When you wear a necklace, a bracelet, earrings, and a makeup, you can say '하다[hada].'     ex) "화장을 하다[hwajangeul hada]" means "to wear a makeup." When you wear a ring, you can say '끼다[kkida].'     ex) "반지를 끼다[banjireul kkida]" means "to wear a ring."
